Permit fees change with the township line
If you work across Jackson County you already know this, but it is worth putting in writing. Leoni Township self-administers the state construction code and sets its permit fees by resolution of the township board, not from a published county schedule. Blackman assumed the code in 1998 and runs its own inspector. Spring Arbor enforces the state codes itself.
So a bid that assumes one permit cost across the county is a bid with a hole in it. Jackson County publishes a construction and zoning reference called Build It Jackson with a GIS lookup that tells you which jurisdiction an address falls under. Worth checking at bid time rather than at inspection.
